Typical Recording Session with VITA VOCA
Far before the day of the recording we begin with comprehensive preparation, gathering essential details about the podcast, its speakers, and the episode’s objective. This strategic approach ensures a seamless recording process that aligns with your expectations.
On the recording you arrive in a fully equipped podcast studio ready to start right away. Of course there is to change anything in the setup if something came up last minute. We talk through the podcast and check for any specific moments that need support or guidance.
We typically record the whole session in one take. If anything comes up during the session, we just keep rolling. The alterations can be discussed and the conversation can then continue where it left off. These interruptions will be cut out in the edit like that never happened.
Note: For an optimal listening experience, we recommend limiting the number of speaker to a maximum of 3 to 4 (including the podcast host). With a larger number, it becomes more challenging for listeners to stay focused on the right person.
Remote Podcast Studio in Utrecht
It is not always convenient to travel for a recording. Tight business schedules or long travel times for guest may require to do the podcast in a more central location for everybody. We therefore grand the option to record the podcast at a preferred location. This can be a location or a location carefully selected by us.
Not every space is ideal for recording a podcast. For example, a large warehouse or a big office with a lot of echo can negatively impact sound quality. That’s why we also offer the option to record your podcast at a carefully selected location, recommended by us. Alternatively, our budget-friendly Amsterdam podcast studio is set up for professional-grade recordings with the best possible sound.
On the day of recording, we arrive well in advance, typically 60 to 90 minutes early to prepare. We set up stands, microphones, and cameras (if needed) to guarantee a smooth recording. A dedicated podcast engineer is always on-site to oversee the technical aspects, give support and ensuring flawless audio (and video) capture.
How VITA VOCA Handles Editing
Right after the recording we will gather all the files and continue to edit. We start with a full listen through. Then we’ll cut out unwanted parts, match all volume levels, and put music and sound bumpers in their place. We make sure that audio levels meet industry standards.
As the audio plays, we pay close attention to the rhythm of the speaker. Some podcast guests are natural speakers, while others might struggle a bit. With permission, we aim to remove “non-essential” content, such as long pauses, stammering, or repetitive phrases.
When the edit is done we immediately send it back as a single file, ready for distribution on any desired platform. In this phase our podcast studio is standing by for
